Will the Smart car catch on?

The smart car now has a launch date in the United States sometime in this upcoming January, and they have been trying to appeal to many potential buyers recently at auto shows and some other forms of advertisement. The Smart car has been doing quite well in Europe and even Canada for years now, but it has not made an appearance in the United States market quite yet. However, that is soon going to change, and we will see how well the advertising has done for this innovative company.

The Smart car is a sub-compact car that gets great gas mileage for a relatively low price, but I don't really think there will be too much of a market for it in the United States. I have always personally liked sub-compact cars and being economical, but most Americans these days feel like they just cannot live without their SUV. Base price for the new Smart car is supposed to be approximately $11,500, so it may appeal to some economical individuals, but we will all have to wait and see.
