LEDs will be lighting up rockefeller Christmas tree

This year LEDs will be what is used for lighting up the beautiful Rockefeller Christmas tree in order to conserve electricity without sacrificing festivities. This Christmas tree is over eighty feet tall, and will have thousands upon thousands of LEDs emitting various colors to celebrate the Christmas season.

All these LEDs will be strung on around a whopping five miles of wire, which is quite a massive length I must say. I think it is a good change for a good cause. LEDs are very efficient, and I'm sure it will save a great deal of electricity. I'd be scared to see how much this is all going to cost to produce, but I'm sure it's just a drop in the bucket to them.
